Orchard View and Yonge now a patio

What is being called a dangerous intersection (Orchard View Blvd at Yonge Street) is now part of a15 week pilot project to bring safer conditions and pleasant activities to the area. Orchard Park Blvd has been turned into a bustling pedestrian square. It will entertain a farmer's market every Thursday. Seating, patio umbrellas and planters now welcome people to stay and enjoy the summer weather on the road space just off Yonge north of Eglinton. The organizing committee chose the area partially because drivers often make it unsafe for pedestrians. They turn too fast around that corner to avoid the busy intersection ahead. The Apple Tree Farmers’ Market will provide hungry shoppers with local produce and other goodies every Thursday at the square.
